Formerly operating under StoneHill Capital, Inc., Darrell Burns founded Savient Financial, Inc. to specialize in real estate, mortgage, and project financing solutions. Throughout his career, Mr. Burns has built a reputation for developing innovative financial strategies and delivering sophisticated real estate advisory services to private clients and institutional investors.

Beginning in 1989, Mr. Burns focused on asset management, now widely known as loss mitigation, helping property owners and lenders develop solutions to maximize asset value and minimize financial loss. In 1992, he expanded his expertise by mastering the specialized practice of land swapping a complex negotiation process involving the exchange of privately owned land with government-owned property of equal or greater value, including transactions involving U.S. military holdings where appropriate.

By 1996, Mr. Burns had broadened his real estate practice to include luxury residential properties, mining assets, and energy-related land investments. During this period, he partnered with Hatch Consulting to provide comprehensive geological analysis and technical reporting for investment clients evaluating mining and natural resource opportunities. He also assembled an international network of investors and financial professionals to support large-scale project financing initiatives around the world.

Mr. Burns received a prominent accolade: The Congressional Medal of Distinction for the development of a six-year economic forecast for the years 2001 to 2006. This award was presented to Mr. Burns in Washington D.C. by Congress and the Bush administration in April 2007.

In 2008, Mr. Burns relocated to Geneva, Switzerland, where he served as a financial liaison on international real estate development projects spanning South Africa, South Korea, and Morocco. His work included coordinating financing relationships and supporting cross-border investment opportunities.

Today, Mr. Burns has returned to Newport Beach, California, where he has re-established Savient as a premier real estate and mortgage advisory firm serving clients throughout California. His expertise includes residential and commercial real estate, market analysis, property valuation, mortgage financing strategies, and complex project funding.

Mr. Burns has earned five academic degrees in Real Estate, Real Estate Accounting, Finance, Economics, and an MBA from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in Corporate Leadership. His multidisciplinary background enables him to provide clients with strategic guidance that extends beyond traditional real estate services by integrating financial analysis, economic trends, investment strategy, and long-term wealth planning.
